Inside the beautiful home of designer Brittaney Elise

I first met interior designer Brittaney Elise when she was working with our mutual girl friend Melissa Andre on her home project. I visited her Instagram and website and instantly fell into a rabbit hole of exploring her beautiful work. Her aesthetic resonated with me so much, and I felt like all her interiors were so layered, glamorous yet liveable and possessed so much soul- which is something I always look for in a space. Her Instagram to this day remains one of my all-time favourites. As I got to know her, I was also blown away by her spirit, wisdom and kindness.

Recently having made a move from LA to NYC, I was so excited to work with her again recently when she told me she was looking for art for her new pied-a-terre in the city.

We decided to go with one of my beloved pieces by Ashley Woodson Bailey, entitled “Trophy,” and framed by our partners over at Simply Framed. Her home was recently featured on Apartment Therapy. I’m excited to show you a peek at Brittaney’s stunningly curated home.

What was your inspiration when designing your home?

My NYC home has been inspired by my life at 30. It’s a collection of bits and pieces of inspiration I’ve come across over time, all around the world; it’s the romantic, eclectic, fairytale -lover in me!

What’s your philosophy when it comes to finding the right piece of art?

When it comes to finding the right piece of art I tend to leave this as the cherry-on-top, so to speak; I find that the right piece of art calls to a space in time — it’s important not to rush or select decorative art, but instead, make sure that it is a perfect compliment to the design of the room.

What are some of your most beloved decor pieces?

Pottery I have collected while traveling overseas; Paris, Bali, Thailand, Morocco…
